Silence is golden, the adage we learn as kids in school seems almost arcane in an increasingly noisy world today where any silence is hard to find.
Whether it is zen philosophy or Indian or occidental, silence is an important part of discipline and routine in the life of the serious student. Closer to home and times, Gandhiji was an advocate of mauna and the vipassana method of meditation consists of a rigorous schedule of silence.
To observe this tradition, I will not be blogging all of August (with an exception maybe for Independence day). At least one month out of one year seems appropriate to do so even as I am trying to stay to a schedule of about two posts per week at other times.
My last post for July. See you all come September when I am back!
